Endowed with exceptional patantharam, the performance showcased pure Carnatic music that was truly mesmerizing. Commencing with the majestic 'Viriboni' varnam in Bhairavi, Dr. Ramprasad skillfully delved into other ragas such as Hindolam, Begada, Hamir Kalyani, and more, displaying his expertise. His impeccable sense of rhythm and Kaalapramaanam was evident, as he engaged seamlessly with the senior percussion maestros on stage. Notably, he is the grandson of the legendary Palaghat Sri Mani Iyer. The modest Dr. Sampath on the violin played with unwavering dedication, enhancing Ramprasad's performance to its fullest. Srimushnam Rajarao, the mridangam maestro, was a delight to watch, effortlessly handling the mridangam. His mastery of the instrument, along with his impeccable accompaniment, elevated each krithi with the expertise befitting a legend, creating an unparalleled experience. Sri Sundar Kumar on the khanjira demonstrated excellence, providing accompaniment with the grace necessary to elevate the concert's quality. |
