Exuberant, full-throttle singing—powerful yet melodious, capturing every nuance of perfectly aligned raga bhava, gamakas, and akaras—a picture of complete mastery over his craft. The list could go on. This is Abhishek Raghuram, whose music can only be described as a 'Pravaham'—a river in spate, carrying everything along with it toward an unknown destination. What is certain is that everyone is joyfully swept up in that Pravaham. The 'Abhishek effect' takes over and it is a merging of a different kind where "Awe" rules. The accompaniments—HM Smitha on the violin, Tumkur Ravishankar on the mridangam, and Guru Prasanna on the kanjira were all ready and equipped to handle Abhishek and ensure that they left no stone unturned to give their best and keep up with all that came their way,as one can never be sure of what variation or nuance can be expected next. They did such a fantastic job of accompanying Abhishek yesterday to give the audience a wonderful treat. |
