The cost of supporting the education of one child for one academic year is Rs. 1500/-. This amounts to less than Rs. 5/- per day but can make all the difference to the future of a child from the poorest of the poor.
Donations to Shikhsa are exempt under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act which enables the donor with 50% tax deduction.
