Selection

• The youth and families are counseled about the stringent and rigorous course which requires them to put in long hours of hard work and unstinting commitment for three months without any break.
• The youth’s attitude and aptitude are assessed so that the capable and deserving get the opportunity to study.
• The economic criteria is verified through the BPL ration card/income certificate issued by the tahsildar
• The family background is verified followed by a medical examination. All these are efforts to ensure that there are no drop-outs after a term begins.

Training

• Classes are held six days a week from 8.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
• Stringent norms on attendance and punctuality
• Strict adherence to ground rules on conduct and discipline
• Inculcating values, including dignity of labour
• Responsibility for cleanliness and maintenance of Unnati Centre
• Provision of bus passes, accommodation for out-station youth, food and health supplements for youth, all provided free of cost.
